Makeup has always been a passion of mines. I also always loved showing and teaching people how to achieve the look they want with out being a professional makeup artist.
This post aims teach all you girlies out there little tricks for every aspect of make up.

First off you need to know your face. Its not hard at all just give your face a lil feel and get familiar with its structure.  See link below of how to achieve this.

Now that you know your face lets move on to the most important feature "well to me atleast" THE EYEBROWS.  Now there are lot of shapes but finding the right shape for you can be a bit difficult

Now finding the rite shape
Grab yourself a eyeliner pencil and follow the picture below. Use the pencil and make little point. These points will ensure to start, make your arch and end and the correct spot ensuring you achieve the best shape of eyebrows for your face.

HOME MADE FACIAL - YOU TIME

To be quite honest I love home made beauty care however I would be lying if I said they worked for me. Please, don't get me wrong they are amazing and work well on every other part of my body just not my face, mainly cause of how sensitive my skin is.

Nevertheless, homemade facials have been amazing to everyone I know, that combined with healthy eating and exercise.  The bonus with homemade facials are that they are inexpensive totally natural and you can have super fun with friends at sleepover or girls chill day.

Natural Remedy For Acne

We Trini's believe in herbal remedies for everything. The following are some great remedies for acne, one of the most common skin conditions that affect both men and women, especially in the teenage years. 
Some of the herbal remedies that have been suggested for acne include 

• A blend of sandalwood powder and rose water, 
• A paste made from turmeric powder and fresh milk, tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, aloe vera gel
• A paste of honey and cinnamon powder and oatmeal face mask. 
• Applying the pulp of fresh garlic cloves or garlic juice is also believed to be effective to cure this annoying skin problem.

Caribbean Hair Tips

Let’s face reality no matter how much product or how expensive the product is, living in the Caribbean and maintaining beautiful hair is quite challenging.

As a woman of east Indian decent I found it quite difficult to maintain my hairstyles – the wind, the rain, the heat, the dust, the Caribbean lol. As you can see below my hair isn’t straight nor is it extremely curly.

Finding the right products to maintain my texture is always a trying process but never fair in the Caribbean :-  where there is a will there is a way, usually the long time traditional way, the way your great great grama use to do lol.

Some great products to treat your hair with and maintain your natural texture.

Note please use these products when you’re at home and not heading out to and event.   

I swear by this product, not only for hair but skin, nails, as a general body oil  anything that you think may need being repairs on your body. Nevertheless when it comes to the hair COCONUT OIL IS THE LIFE 




One of the greatest applications of coconut oil is for your hair, whether it be to intensely moisturize and condition, to stimulate faster growth, detangle, defeat dandruff and more. Here are six reasons you should start putting coconut oil in your hair.

LIP SCRUBS FOR THE BEST KISSES

No one wants them and as Caribbean women they’re likely to trouble us more, but luckily chapped lips are a cinch to fix. Here’s what you need to know to properly exfoliate them and keep them smooth.

What to use:

Get you a soft toothbrush and if your like me and have particularly sensitive skin, a children’s toothbrush will work best. Keep this one specifically for this purpose, not to be mixed up with your usual as you don't want to contaminate it with any bacteria.

The fun part:

Get yourself a lip scrub of your choice if your from Trinidad try Wonderful world. If your a cheapo and do it yourself like me you can make your own at home by mixing bicarbonate soda with a small amount of water to create a paste, or try brown sugar mixed with coconut oil. I will also post a link of more fun creative DIYs

How:

Apply your chosen scrub to lips or toothbrush, then with your toothbrush use a circular motion firmly, but not to rough. A good scrub will contain moisturizing as well as exfoliating agents so let the scrub absorb into your lips by leaving on for a minute or so. Use a damp wash cloth to wash off.

How often:

In the Caribbean you will likely want to do this more often but any more than twice a week can be risky. The skin on your lips is delicate, so you shouldn’t be applying the same rules as you would to the rest of your body or you risk exacerbating the original problem.

Foundation Tips

As Caribbean women some of us suffer from highly oil skin or highly dry skin that sometimes alters the look we intented. This post is aimed to assist you in tips and tricks in dealing with these types of skin.

First step is finding the right shade of foundation.
Second step is finding the right brand.
Third step is knowing the availability of your chosen brand.

Choosing the right brand of foundation is critical as some foundations are more oil based than others. Personal experiences thought me that an oily foundation can not only destroy your makeup look but cause major acne and clogged pores.

Lesson one - Scotch Tape is your best friend in makeup....

We all want the sharp cutting edge when applying our eye shadow, here is how.

To ensure you have the perfect angle the trick is to hold a piece of tape approximately 3 inches long 45 degree from the arch of your eyebrow and pull to the end of
your eyes stick and proceed.



This small piece of tape helps you to achieve that cutting edge eyeliner, shape makeup edge and allows you to complete your look in no time and give you the processional glam look.
