Hair Tips/Tricks

Castor Oil Benefits for Hair

Many women desire to have long lush hair that they can wear with pride. Unfortunately, with today’s pollution, poor eating habits, and a sedentary lifestyle, the hair follicles aren’t getting the nutrition and support needed to provide a full healthy head of hair.
This can lead to dry, brittle hair that breaks easily, and thins out over time. Fortunately, this process can be turned back.
There are many treatments to help increase hair growth, but one of the best is castor oil. Regular application will negate the effects of an inactive and poor nutritional lifestyle in the big city.

Makeup Tip/Tricks

Eyelash Application

Eyelash applications are one aspect of makeup that takes time, technique and patients. I cant tell you how the apply eyelashes so I have included a video below. However, in my personal opinion and preference when choosing your lashes please choose ones that look natural and not ones Eyelash application. where when you bat your eyes you can blow away individuals.

Makeup Tips/Tricks

Contour Like a Pro

In a previous post on makeup tips I spoke about knowing you face.
contouring is all about knowing your face to be able to highlight your best qualities..
1. The first step is knowing the right shades.
Know your shade of foundation,
2. Your contouring product (powder and cream)shouldn’t be more than two colors deeper than your complexion
3. Avoid products with shimmer.
Your trying to add depth with cool brows that absorb light. Shimmer reflects light, so bronzers will do the opposite.
Essentially the below picture is what you are trying to achieve. However bear in mind that everyone's face is different and therefore you must know you face to achieve this aspect of artistry.
The video below would assisting is showing how to blend out the contouring properly.

HIGHLIGHT YOUR LIFE

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter

The drugstore gem packs a whomp of champagne-colored shine in this little compact. Brush on a little bit for a sheeny glow, or pound it on for a literal chrome finish.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder

Assuming this cult-classic isn’t already on your vanity, stock up ASAP. Despite its powder formula, this luminizer glides on like silk and never dries or cakes. Plus, it comes in a range of pearly to bronzey shades (spoiler: they're allstunning.)

L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator

This creamy liquid highlighter earned its Allure Best of Beauty Award for its stellar luminosity and straight-up versatility. For an all-over, lit-from-within glow, blend the formula over the entire face (as you would a primer) and follow with foundation — or not. For a more traditional highlight, simply dot along cheekbones and blend. The illuminator comes in the same three shades as the Lumi powder— Golden, Rose, and Ice — each aimed at different undertones (though you can hardly go wrong regardless of which shade you pick).

A collection of four metallic powder highlighters for intense luminosity. Layer shades of Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit or apply separately on face and body for a radiant glow.

Hair tricks/tips

Fun DIY Hair Styles for Everyday

What You'll Need:
- Mini hair elastics
- Bobby pins
- Sea salt spray
Step 1: Grab a one-inch section of hair from each side of your head just above your ears and twist them back to the center of your head. Secure with a mini hair elastic.
Step 2: Using hair underneath the elastic, braid a two-inch section of hair and secure with another elastic.
Step 3: Wrap the braid around the base of itself until it forms a flower shape, then use bobby pins to secure in place.
Step 4 (Optional): Use sea salt spray on the rest of your hair to give it a beach-y texture.

What You'll Need:

- Bobby pins
- Reworkable hold paste
Step 1: Use a pea-size amount of reworkable hold paste in your fingertips to slick down any major cowlicks.
Step 2: Start with a two-inch section of hair, twisting the section around itself into a tight coil.
Step 3: Once the coil is tight enough that the twist naturally forms a small bun, continue wrapping the bun up and toward your head. Pin the bun in place. See the GIF below for closer look at this technique.
Step 4: Continue steps 2-3 until all of your hair is pinned up.

What You'll Need:
- Bobby pins
- Mini hair elastics
- Texturizing finishing spray
- Tail comb
Step 1: With your tail comb, separate out a two-inch wide section of hair at the top of your head in the center. It should start at your hairline and end at the crown of your head.
Step 2: Beginning at your hair line, separate your section of hair into three smaller sections to start your French braid.
Step 3: Continue to French-braid the entire section, picking up pieces to add to your braid as you go.
Step 4: Once your braid reaches the end of the section of hair you created, secure the end of the braid with a mini hair elastic.
Step 5: Bobby pin the hair elastic down to your head. For an extra secure hold, push the bobby pin through the elastic before pushing into your hair.
Step 6: On your loose hair, spray texturizing finishing spray to add body.

Makeup Tip/Trick

 The Lips

Ladies we all the sexy lip look.  Here are some tips for different looks and different lip shapes.

Learn how to line your lips  - Follow the chart

Make it last

To keep your color in place, fill the entire lip with neutral pencil before applying lipstick. If necessary, roll the tip in the palm of your hand to warm it up and prevent hard lines.

Illusions

Give the illusion of two perfect peaks without lining lips. Just dab concealer in the groove at the center of your upper lip and blend well.

If you really like the way a lipstick color looks in the tube, prime lips with a touch of foundation before applying; that way, you start with a blank canvas. The result will be similar to what you see in the package

The one you all want to know

Over lining lips

Follow this chart to make those over lined lips look professionally done.

Foods that help your skin glow

Best Foods for Flawless Skin

Living in the Caribbean, its hard not to eat everything because, "EVERYTHING TASTES AMAZING" so from time to time a good old cleansing and cooling is great for the body.
Growing up with my grandparents I always had to drink some bush which I was not pleased about, but it turned out to work wonders for my body and skin.

Senna Pods and Salt

The use of senna pod and salt made as a tea helps to cleanse and cool the body, one can also use the leaves to shower with, as it assist in clearing ones skin and giving it an extra glow.

Burnt Bread in water

Often times I saw my mom burn bread, fill a jar of water and leave the bread in it, she would then drink this water for the next three days. As you can imagine I was confused as ever but it seemed to have worked for her. Her skin also looks amazing after her session. This remedy helps cool the body and get rid of all the heats that is cause by the amount of pepper we Caribbean people eat ans the sun.

Rough skin lemon infused in water

Now this is one I live by, not only for my skin but for my body and to lose weight. Its simple boil a mug of water, slice the lemon, put in the water and then put in the refrigerator to cool. Drink this for the next couple of days and you don't only have glowing skin but you also feel energetic and it further helps burn stomach fat.  Its a total win with this one.

Turmeric

This amazing root works wonders not only as a cooling and cleanser but a healer as well. Individuals who got in accidents, just gave birth or had surgery are advised the drink this as it helps heal the wounds and set you on a speedy recovery. Its great for achieving clear skin by drinking it and/or grating it and rubbing it on your skin.
